Wrexham dump Arsenal out of the FA Cup

Twenty years ago today reigning Division One champions Arsenal travelled to Wales to play Fourth Division Wrexham in the 3rd round of the FA Cup...and promptly lost.

Despite taking a first half lead through Alan Smith's strike, the Gunners tired in the latter stages, conceded from a fine free-kick by Mickey Thomas and then watched 20-year-old Steve Watkin nab a last minute winner for the minnows.

It remains one of the most famous giant-killings ever and serves as a reminder that defeat in football is something you just have to cope with. Incidentally George Graham's side lost just one of their remaining 20 games that season.

Did you see John Jensen score?

Signed in the aftermath of Denmark's shock success at Euro '92, John Jensen achieved cult status at Highbury for his complete and utter lack of prowess in front of goal. That was until his curled effort against QPR 17 years ago today which spawned the wearing of "I saw John Jensen score" t-shirts all around Highbury.

It was to be the midfielder's only goal in 98 Premiership games for the club, but one which is still fondly remembered despite the game ending in a 3-1 home defeat.

Come on you Gunners by @emirejc

There have been few years in Arsenal's modern history which have combined quite so many glorious highs with such confidence sapping lows.

Looking ahead to a brighter future @emirejc (the man behind the brilliant 125 Years of Arsenal video) has put together another masterful montage to bolster support as the Gooner fraternity heads into 2012.

Dennis Bergkamp - All 116 Assists

Having already created a magnificent montage of Dennis Bergkamp's 120 goals in an Arsenal shirt, @CWDailyGooner is back (with a helping hand from the indomitable @DmitryMD) with a beautiful video charting every one of the Dutchman's 116 assists in chronological order.

Sit back and enjoy ten seasons worth of walking in a Bergkamp wonderland.
