ray Parlour: 'I got a bit tipsy before kick-off!'

The drinking culture that existed at Arsenal in the early 90s is the stuff of legend and by the time Ray Parlour was no stranger to a pub lock-in when he made his first appearance at Anfield in 1992.

Ray gave away a penalty in front of the Kop on his debut but the Romford Pele had a much better game a year or so later* when he came on as a substitute - despite sinking five pints less than an hour before the match!

*Arsenal beat Liverpool at Anfield in August 1992 - with Parlour having a great game - but it seems he started the match rather than coming off the bench as he describes in the recording? So with Arsenal having a lousy record at Anfield in teh mid-1990s we're stumped as to which game he's referring to. Answers on a postcard...
