Vintage Style Arsenal Posters by Paine Proffitt

There are very few (if any) football artists working today who evoke the beautiful game's heritage quite like Paine Proffitt. His work drips with nostalgia and although he's not actually an Arsenal fan he's found himself repeatedly turning to the club's rich history for inspiration.

As an example, in the above image his muse is legendary striker Ted Drake, star of the successful George Allison era and scorer of 139 goals in 184 appearances across five seasons.

Arsene & Dennis by Graeme Bandeira

Football fanatic Graeme Bandeira is the resident artist at the Yorkshire Post for whom he produces caricatures and cartoons of everything from politicians to talking parrots!

Given his passion for the beautiful game, it’s unsurprising that he regularly turns his attention to icons of the sporting world with Arsene (above) and Dennis (below) two Arsenal examples of his impressive talent.

Concordia by Michael Henry

Capturing generations of Arsenal glory Michael Henry's marvellous homage to the club's history is a feast for the eyes of any Gooner. Inspired by the work of famed pop artist Sir Peter Blake, his beautifully crafted montage not only includes all the iconic trophy-winning moments you'd expect but also cult figures, kits and crests.

Talking about his work, Michael explains on his website: "Football and art tend not to mix too often. I can't think of better inspiration. If anything ever anything conjured such raw emotion it's sport, and in my case football."

This print is available to buy from Michael's website and you can follow him on Twitter here.

Jack Wilshere by Brian Cabaniss

We've featured New York Gooner Brian Cabaniss before but with his images soon to be included in a London-based exhibition it seemed an apt moment to again shine the spotlight on his work.

On this occasion Jack Wilshere is the subject of Brian's artistic affections with our young dynamo captured belting home the winner against Swansea in January's FA Cup 3rd round win. As you can see, he's literally jumping off the page...well not quite literally, but you get what we mean!

Wearing Dennis Bergkamp's old number Wilshere is a perfect fit for the Fantasista Exhibition (date & venue TBC) given that its focus is the 'Art of the Number 10'. Also including football art by the likes of Dan Leydon, Steve Welsh, Zoran Lucic, Stan Chow, and Richard Swarbrick - all favourites of The Arsenal Collective - the homage to the great and the good of the beautiful game is sure to prove popular.

We've all been there.

Wake up hungover. Drink coffee in attempt to feel human again. Put clothes on. Make way to the pub. Start drinking again. Watch The Arsenal.

J.P.Peer, the creator of the above comic strip, captures the experience perfectly.
